Welcome

If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance life has become smaller than you ever imagined it would. Maybe agoraphobia has kept you close to home. Maybe anxiety has made even simple things feel overwhelming. Or maybe you’re supporting someone you love and trying to understand what they are going through. Whatever brought you here, I’m glad you came.

You are welcome here.

Why I Started Living Beyond the Door

Living Beyond the Door began with a simple belief:

No one should have to face agoraphobia alone.

For a long time, I believed I was the only one struggling with fears that didn’t make sense to other people. Recovery often felt lonely, and progress was so small that it was easy to overlook. Over time, I learned something important. Healing isn’t usually made up of giant leaps. It’s made up of tiny acts of courage, repeated day after day. That’s what Living Beyond the Door is about. Not perfection. Not pretending recovery is easy. Just taking the next small step and celebrating every bit of progress along the way.

About Your Agoraphobic Friend

I’m someone living with agoraphobia who understands how quickly anxiety can make your world feel smaller. I’m not writing because I’ve figured everything out. I’m writing because I know how much it helps to realize you’re not walking this road alone. Some days are easier than others. Some victories are tiny. Some setbacks are frustrating. But every step still counts. If sharing my experiences, reflections, and resources helps someone else feel a little less alone, then Living Beyond the Door is doing exactly what I hoped it would.

Wherever you are right now…

Whether today feels hopeful or hard…

I’m glad you’re here.

We’ll take the next step together.
